The number of animals in factory farms now is is much greater than it was when he wrote Animal Liberation in 1975, writes Simon Tisdall. But progress has been made on legislative improvements so not again not everywhere but if you look at the European Union which is a reasonably large and diverse entity throughout the EU I'm talking about.
