Is It Inevitable? Or Is It Tough?

i grew up in a chinese american community that was majority asian, actually. My parents had very consciously raised us in a way that they didn't want us to either assimilate too quickly or to or want it. So i'm realizing that it's important for me to help them stay connected in ways that make sense and in ways that are practical.
