A male who burns 3,000 calories a day would have 1200 calorie deficit. Hyperphasia is that induced by the muscle loss itself and some sort of hormonal signals as a result of it. It does seem like muscle is a little bit more important for keeping hunger under control post diet compared to fat loss.
