Cognitive Economics and the Wine Study
The methods used in doing this work are very standard and very well accepted so let me just describe how these studies work. What we do is for some you know for some topic area like well we'll take the wine as an example there are categories of conversation or of interest that people talk about. These groups of three or four elements we call a vignette, they're randomly constructed under computer control. Each person sees a set of around 45 of these things so each person sees a unique set of vignettes because they're all randomly controlled after after we get the responses.
