Is There a Benefit to Doing a Bench Press?

The flat bench press is pretty damn good at broadly activating the peck musculature. There are some studies showing that if you play with the angle, you can preferentially get a little bit extra activation in certain areas of the muscle. Ahe there's, you know, e m g activity does not necessarily translate over time to hypertrophy but i think it's informative when it comes to variation and exercise in general.
