I try and think of first figuring out how can I be the only. And then the next thing I try and figure out is how can I bring a non obvious solution to an obvious problem? So start by saying, how can I niche down so that I'm close to the only or one of five or one of 10 people? If you can do an intersection of those two things, you can have a non competitive brand. As you grow over time, you can start to bring some more of those interests in because you've already built a significant audience and you have an audience of fans.
