Mesopotamian Fiction Is Full of Oceans of Beer
Mesopotamians often preferred barley beer to the marshy waters of their irrigated fields, so it's not too surprising that their deities drank a lot of alcohol too. The younger generations of gods caroused, parodied, and had fun, and made a lot of noise. Tiamat vowed revenge and built an army of gods and demons. Flanked by her viceroy general god and a host of devils and monsters, Tiamat prepared to destroy the younger generation of gods once and for all.
