The Effects of Fermented Foods on Microbiome Diversity

The study was meant to get people eating diverse mixture of fermented foods. The biggest impact in our study was yogurt followed by actually a fermented vegetable brine drink that is commercially called gut shots. It's interesting and notable that both of these products are high in lactic acid. And so we're testing in the lab using a mouse model, whether lactic acid can have an outsized impact as one of the prime microbial metabolites.
