Myth Number Two, You Shouldn't Arch Your Back on Squats and Deadlifts

When you're just chasing weight, form goes out the window. Most people who are kind of like into it and meatheads and go to the gym a lot need to train lighter. All right, myth number two: You should arch your back on squats and deadlifts. So unrack the bar or do a deadlift and get the arch out of your lower back. Get that spine completely neutral,. pull your abs down, pull your rib cage down, brace your abs. Now try to squat or deadlift, hinge squat, whatever. And so it becomes a much stronger, much more stable position and you don't get injured as much.
