How to Manage a February Infant 60 Days and Younger

The February infant is now 60 days old. The new Canadian pediatric guidelines for the first month of life include an option to admit and observation without LP or antibiotics. There are a subset of kids, even under 30 days old who do not require an LP, but you need to have that ProCalcitonin in your system. And one of the big paradigm shifts is to be selectively using lumbar puncture and empiric antibiotic treatment.
