The Universal Decimal Classification System
Atlet created a new cataloging system that we're just doing in Europe called the universal decimal classification. He came up with this really interesting, what you might call like a semantic markup where you could be very fine grained in the way you described what was inside a book. A lot of interesting parallels actually with Rankineathan's faceted classification system as well. Well, and to locate folks, we're talking about pre-digital technology, right? Like they were early 20th century,. So dealing with index cards, basically? That's right.
