Vitamin K is actually a whole family of closely related compounds. People whose diets were particularly high in vitamin K had a much lower incidence of bone fractures as they got older. The other primary form of this nutrient, vitamin K2, is also known as menoquinone. In terms of helping to build healthy bones and other health benefits, Vitamin K2 is thought to be the more potent form.
