The Importance of Restorative Justice

A real apology doesn't ask for the person who is harmed to do anything, really. Justice and forgiveness are two separate things. And so I think that's one of the things in your episode that really kind of struck me was that restorative justice can happen without the victim or the person who's harmed having to take it upon themselves to be the bigger person. We need to find a way to bring apologies back to take them out of their current state of being commodified and cheapened. Otherwise, we won't survive.
