Matt Welch: There's a difference between being liked and being respected. "Sunil Gupta was all content, clarity, crystal clear, slick without looking slick," he says of his former colleague at Columbia who now works at HBS. The best communication advice you have ever received can be summed up in five to seven word slide title; it is important for people hearing it for the first time. 'You really have to just put yourself in that perspective,' Welch adds.
