Is Folic Acid Toxic?
There is an autoimmune condition called cerebral folate deficiency, which could be negatively influenced by actually folic acid. The natural folates that need to cross the blood brain barrier aren't unable to do so because the folic acid can block. Insufficient amounts are very problematic as is the case with folate. Excessive folates may alter DNA expression in such a way that will allow in certain vulnerable populations and have a cancer promoting effect.
