Few of the really worrisome causes of thrombocytopenia will give you platelet counts between 100 and 150,000. The less than 10,000 is where I start worrying about spontaneous severe bleeding,. Splendic sequestration due to a big spleen often in the 60 to 100,000 range. So don't just let the degree of Thrombocy topenia decide whether you're worried or not.
