How to Train for Even Pace in the Marathon

In the marathon, runners are trying to even pace the whole endeavor or outing within a very short tolerance of a window. But when they're racing and I always think of like Hendrick Ramallah in the New York City Marathon in the early 2000s, that's not the case. They will drop a 420 bomb in the middle of the race. And so we end up doing ourselves a disservice if we just oversentrate on the goal pace without giving them the tolerance or metabolic robustness to endure and handle a little faster injection. That's what these alternations, which again, Canova's alternations in the marathon are essentially flux style work.
