Tobleron has been produced in the Swiss capital of Bern for almost 125 years. Monteles is also facing a big jump in raw material costs. It wanted to capitalize on cheaper wages in Slovakia, but by doing this it was breaking a cardinal rule. The Swiss realized that people associated a standard of quality with products of Swiss provenance.
