The Misnomer of OCD
There's no such thing as a purely obsessional person, because OCD always has an obsessive component and then a compulsive component. So saying purer is what I refer to as a misnomer. The reason that I coined the term purer was not as a scientist, but as a clinician. And my patients in the 1980s were really tired of their condition being classified as 'pure'
