Sixth and Final Tip for Avoidant People - Co-Regulation

The sixth and final tip that I want to give you here is prioritize co-regulation. The avoidant person is pretty comfortable on their own self-regulation, but safe attunement with another person's system can feel intensely vulnerable. So practicing that and what this looks like, practically speaking, is like lingering in a hug for a little bit longer. That might be as simple as patting a dog or sinking up your breath to their breath.
