The Synaptic Pathways for Critical Thinking
The idea that we need to expose students to different perspectives on the world through academic lenses is very important. Without teaching enough neurons how to build a reference frame for how the same thinking skills can apply in literature class and in business class, we're literally doing students the neuro scientific disservice of forcing them to construct new neural pathways. Students are suffering at the opportunity cost of not being able to strengthen the same critical thinking synaptic highways in their brains.
