Habits are a double edged sort. They can either compound for you or against you. One of the ways that that we do that is when you write, your brain is a reward detector. If it detects danger or pain or discomfort, then it wants to move away from those things. And if it detects reward or pleasure or satisfaction, it want to move toward them.
