The sciences and the arts are ultimately both seeking the same thing. Religious feeling finds its outlet and we struggle to express truth in words. Why do Shakespeare's characters not say what they mean? Well, firstly, it's because they can't. And secondly, it's very human. Most communication is non-verbal. I think verbal communication is roughly 3%. The rest is gestures, body language, facial expressions. We all begin life in medius res in the middle of things. All leave great stories with a sense that that world will continue. It will carry on without us. So, Memento Mori.
