The three minute rule is a useful way to sort of level set yourself, or calm yourself down in responding to something that has to happen quickly. If you're having a terrible day at work, it's setting aside your emotional anger and just focusing on the thing that needs to be done. Your sleep systems are probably one of the most important things you have for stress management. No matter how good you are in the moment, every single night, if your sleep is compromised, it's a little variable. And like nutrition, managing mental state can pay for itself over time.
