The Importance of Pre Termination Negotiations

Some employers just take the view that if you've got an underperforming employee, assuming they've got more than two years employment, the best thing to do is get them to sign a settlement agreement. The real issues can arise if those conversations are had too soon and at a time when it's a complete shock to the employee. So I think it's much better or more appropriate to move to these pre termination discussions.
