How Thyroid Hormone Impacts Cholesterol Levels
With hypothyroidism, if someone has an under-functioning thyroid, they often will have an elevated lipoprotein A. And that does put someone at risk for cardiovascular disease. The other big thing withhypothyroidism is there's often higher levels of phospholipase A1. So those are like the three big ways that thyroid's going to affect our cholesterol status.
