How to Get Google to Read Your Image
Google can't see images the way that we can. So if we served up an image with no information, it won't know what it's looking at. There are a few ways that you can kind of inform Google as to what your image is containing. The first area is your image name or your file name. Having that in the file name will help Google understand it. Also something else called alt text which is a bit of text that you can write, which essentially gives a description to the image. This is great for accessibility reasons. Users that have visual impairments that also can't see pictures very well will use the image alt text. That's what comes through their screen readers.
