Why Is the Amigdola So Reactive Without Sleep?

When you do get a night of sleep, there's another part of your brain here. The middle part of the frontal lobe that sits right between your eyes. That is strongly connected to this deep emotional centre called amigdola. Without sleep, without sleep, you'v become all emotional gas pedal and no break. You're all deep neanderthal reptilium brain reaction with no rational regulation. And we believe it both assesses them by reactivating them and bringing them back into play. But unlike learning and memory, which seems to be perhaps related more so to non rem sleep now, for emotional processing and emotional health, mental health, it seems to be rem sleep.
