What I've Learned as a Competitive Athlete

Don't take criticism personally. Breathe with your body, not against it. A lot of people start to struggle they they mentally struggle. And this is where breathing and rhythm are very important. As a competitive athlete, boxer, kick boxer and motor cross racer, i pushed myself super, super hard in my training. I found as if i used a montra that, for example, if i was 18 or 20 miles into a hard run, and i was trying to keep it at six minutes a mile as my slowest, it could really be challenging and painful. Having been trained by monks when i was younger, i would chant to myself, god is great. God is good.
