Stoicism is one of the few schools of ancient philosophy that's not really taught on undergraduate curricula. The Stoics emphasize wisdom above all other things, and Socrates put forward the arguments first to build this philosophy. This explains both why Stoicism was neglected by academic philosophers, but also why there's a huge resurgence of interest in it today.
