This thought distortion assumes that others should change to suit their own interests. Sometimes you're taking on a new role in the hopes that another person in your family will too so that you can complete this, you know, evolution. But most of the time it doesn't. And for better or worse, landmark taught me like, if you're going to stay together, you just have to accept this person for who they are.
