There's one neuroscientist who posited that we spend 95% of our day on autopilot. And so it strikes me that being on autopilot can be a very good thing as long as that autopilot is headed in the right direction. But it's very easy for habits to lock in that are not good for us. Sometimes they're easier to lock in. We want to be very mindful when we might be drifting into a habit.
