If you really want to improve, and this is true for lifting and music and everything else, it's not just getting in front of people and performing. You need to record yourself and review yourself constantly. I have a 1974 clip of me throwing the discus today. What I finally was able to get it off of this, super eight thing, and then to a DVD and watch it. It was almost 50 years later. And I'm looking at my technique, and I thought at the time, I had good technique, and then I thought I had terrible technique,. Now I look at it 50 years later and go, yeah, pretty good.
