Is It Possible to Separate Humans From Animals?
If we were to take for example the boundaries that Freer draws in this text which are not unreasonable like these are the boundaries that a lot of humanist philosophers propose then we could create an in-group and outgroup with those categories. But I think that contrary to what Freer believes we might find that certain things that we consider animals now fall into the human category. As we've learned more about sort of the theory of mind of animals we've come to see that some of these delineations don't exclude quite as much as we thought it might exclude so it would be possible to do that project but if you were to do it I don't think that the boundaries would map up even
