Most of the guys that are contemporary self-improvement gurus, particularly as they become more and more famous, seem to me to resemble the sophists more and more. There's an odd danger to self-help and self-improvements which is that sometimes self-help advice contains bad psychological advice. People have cognitive biases that are blind spots that prevent them from noticing problems in their lives.
In this episode, I answer questions about Stoicism, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and emotional-resilience from Valentin Lehodey, a digital journalism student at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland.
