I'm somewhat sympathetic to the view that a lot of what is taught is not that useful to the students. What matters much more is something like the habits that you're building and practicing wrestling with content at all. I don't think it makes a difference whether you study ancient Greek history or ancient Chinese history, for example. So I tried very much to treat the actual subject matter as replaceable and like not very important.
