Most people will probably be slightly better off training any muscle group twice a week. I think most people, if they do their own programming, don't know what they're really doing. You have to focus on carbohydrate for as long as the program is correct. And one papers that you posted said wild men managed 85% glycogen by 24 hours. So it does seem as though your daily needs should be focused on carbohydrates.
