When you first approach a patient with an AKI or a QKD injury, you want to think about your three buckets of pre-renal causes. I won't go into the details about dialysis, but just to keep that AEIOU mnemonic in mind. And finally, urine analysis is also helpful to give us a sense of what else is happening on the kidney or urinary tract.
