Joint Ventures and Minority Investments
It seems like joint ventures are common in some industries over others. We don't see it as much in soft weare, i think maybe some of it has to do with the fact that there's so much intellectual property at stake in the software industry. There re certainly some geographic markets that will lend themselves more to a joint venture structure. My preference is to only go down that path as a last resort and get joint venture happy. What about minority investments? When do you start thnking about Minority investments? I think as a corporate strategic and putting aside for the moment corporate venture capital arms,. But a true minority investmentb i've only used them sparingly.
