If you have a relationship with another person, your previous conversations have brought you to a spot where you are already at conflict. So if the person is a stranger, you can generate some real good open early trust by just being transparent and telling them, I'm actually interested in your perspective. Give them person to all of that freedom up front. And then you open up with something very simple. If it's a fact based claim, you ask for the claim. If it’s an attitude, you ask, you know, how do you feel about this particular issue? Once they state that, ask them to sort of define it a little bit better for you so that you're talking
