How to Deal With Negative Self-Talk

If somebody comes in with milder depression, which is what most people have who come to me, I say let's spend a few sessions just talking about your life. Many times, just the act of talking after two, three, four sessions will make people feel so much better that they don't feel they need medication. Some people definitely need medication and so we use it. How often do you get somebody that comes in that doesn't struggle with negative self-talk? Almost never. Everybody I know struggles with negative self talk. Actually, I do, right? Talk about that. Yeah, talk about the things that you tell yourself.
