The Three Elements of Self-Compassion
Self-compassion is learning how to turn that care toward ourselves and be our own inner ally instead of our inner enemy. The key is to really think about a dear person coming to you and telling you the exact same story and what you would say to them. And then the final step of self-compassion, which I think is incredibly healing, is what's called common humanity. That's when we begin to reflect on all the other people who are experiencing this similar pain.
