I think a lot of people underestimate how weak their hips probably are in those ranges of motion. Even if you were to just stand up tall and not cheat with your upper body, and just take a leg as far out to the side, as you could, it's probably not going to go nearly as high as you would have expected it. Your hip strength just isn't there to take it up any higher. And i see my daughter, just every week getting like a little bit better compared to what she was doing before.
