The Importance of Feeling in Mindfulness
The Buddha singled out feeling, because it plays such an important role. In the Buddhist context, Vaidna translated as feeling refers to the quality of an experience being pleasant, unpleasant, or neutral. So feeling has the function of sensing what we could call the taste of the experience. It's like savoring the taste in the sense of here is sound. Feel the physical sensation, pleasant, unpleasant neutral feel a mind state. We feel it ispleasant, unpleasant, and neutral.
