Is Exercise a Cause of Depression?

Exercise causes amino acids to be taken up into muscle cells, and it sort of alleviates the competition. Canernan and its metabolites may be more relevant bad actors through that pathway in terms of depressive genesis than is the drop in serotonin. There's another mechanism by which exercise seems to affect depression in a positive way - hyperthermia itself. Have you been familiar with heat shock proteins? Mm-hmm. That's what we'll look at with the Harvard folks.
