The Role of High-Flow Nasal Cannula in Primary Respiratory Support
Last year we published an international survey of over a thousand PICU clinicians from 40 different countries and confirmed that high flow was now being used as primary respiratory support. Not just bronchiolitis but asthma for pneumonia, for cardiac failure and even for neuromuscular disease. So it's see us change in practice already within two or three years time span. And this 17% was roughly evenly split between high flow nasal cannula as the mode versus CPAP.
