How to Date Outside of Your Religion

I've had people cite religious differences as the reason why we shouldn't go out again, which is totally fine. I'm sure there have been times where religion is just their way of saying they weren't into me. It's frustrating feeling like I'm being judged by societal stereotypes. How or when is the best time to bring up your personal faith and how slash when does it differ from your religion? If you're afraid of people using this as an excuse, or that not feeling comfortable about it, or okay about it, I'm wondering if you do or don't have it on your dating app profile.
