The Benefits of Concentration
When our mind is not agitated in thinking about unskillful and unwholesome things we've done, the mind can settle much more easily. It allows us to settle more deeply into concentration. The pleasure of concentration turns out to be much more pleasurable than the happiness of sense pleasure. We may think we're giving up some sort of delight, but actually as our mind gets concentrated, we experience a kind of happiness that is much more fulfilling and more complete.
