In his book, The Birth of Tragedy, Nietzsche pulled on two Greek gods to try and explain two sides of human nature. He saw the tensions between the tribal bloodlust frenzied side of our animal selves and this rational, a polonian harmonious side of ourselves. And oddly enough, and Gene Roddenry was a genius, if you look at Star Trek, there is McCoy, who's always going, you green-blooded monsters, and Spock is saying fascinating.
