The Mind Is a Bucket
The school system not only operates on the bucket theory of the mind, imagining that knowledge can be poured into the mind like water into a bucket. But they also imagine that the bucket can upend itself and pour its knowledge onto a test paper. It's operating anytime, say, a parent is cross that they have told their child something and the child appears not to be listening to them. And we even see this occasionally with poparians. Our minds are always active. We are conjecturing and criticizing our own conjectures. If someone's criticism doesn't actually address the person's problem situation, as they experience their problem situation, then they can't just receive it as though water will be poured
